When you think about how your system currently signals reading success, how are PRINCIPALS and CAMPUS LEADERS recognized or rewarded for it?
-
I'm not sure they are.
-
ELICs are recognized in their district coaching meetings
-
Again, I don't think our district, nor campus, does a good job of this. We might get a "good job" or some kind of words of affirmation. However, when discussing progress we mostly focus on the holes and how are we helping teachers fill them. Like our teachers, sometimes our efforts don't seem good enough.
-
The district leaders complete scheduled walks to look at components of reading and provide feedback. We also have time set aside for data to look are areas of growth and areas of need.
-
I don't believe that our current system formally rewards principals or campus leaders for K–3 reading success. Recognition is indirect, based on leadership routines and system implementation rather than reading outcomes themselves. When reading scores improve, leadership is implicitly recognized for effectively running these systems—but there is no formal process tying reading growth to leader recognition.
-
To be honest, I'm not really sure about this one.
-
When considering how our system currently signals reading success, the recognition for principals and campus leaders is limited and not as intentional as it should be. Our early literacy instructional coach does receive some acknowledgment primarily through district badges that highlight her continuous learning and commitment to improving literacy outcomes. This recognition reinforces the value of her expertise and her role in supporting foundational reading practices across the campus. However, when it comes to administrators, there is currently no formal recognition or reward system in place. Principals and campus leaders play a critical role in establishing strong literacy systems, monitoring data, and ensuring high quality instruction, yet their efforts are not consistently celebrated or highlighted.
-
I think we have work to do on this area. I don't think we have a system in place to recognize Principals or Campus Leaders.
-
We will ensure allotted TXRL schedule times are consistently implemented, and that playlists and small-group instruction are purposeful, data-driven, and aligned to student needs are addressed.
-
Principals are recognized by how schools rated A Score, B Score, etc.
-
As much as I know, principals and campus leaders are rewarded verbally and this recognition trickles down to the faculty and staff.
-
Principals receive updated data and reports indicating where we stand as a campus in comparison to the district. No rewards are in place but verbal recognition is.
-
Hmmmm...
-
Principals are rarely rewarded for student reading success.
-
Campus administrators are only given their scores and results.
-
I have not heard of any special recognitions for principals
-
TPESS evaluation based on student growth.
-
I think that campus leaders and principals are recognized for high test scores and high growth on scores.
-
Unfortunately, there no incentives for principals or campus leadership.
-
We are recognized and praised and told what we need to target to get that A for the district.
-
Showcase reading successes during our six weeks awards ceremony.
-
The principals and campus leaders are recognized by the district during board meetings for reading success in their campus.
-

-
Principals are celebrated with Campus ratings when the success is seen as a whole for the campus.
-
Use campuses as model campuses or provide examples of things that are happening on a campus in district PL
-
Not enough recognition is given.
-
Lots of principals and campus leaders are recognized and rewarded for STAAR growth and scores. However, they aren't rewarded for K-2 reading success.
-
Currently not enough principal and campus leaders recognition is being given.
-
Not sure.

Principals and campus leaders are recognized for reading success through district data reviews, leadership meetings, and public celebrations of campus growth. Achievements in MAP and STAAR outcomes are highlighted by the district leadership team, often shared in board updates, newsletters, and leadership showcases. This recognition reinforces accountability while celebrating instructional leadership that drives literacy improvement.
-
Principals and campus leaders are recognized when they go to principals' meetings and in social media.
-
Administration and Campus leaders are recognized by the district during principals meetings and in social media.
-
We are rewarded with recognition, incentives and awards.
-
Public Recognition during board meetings and principals meetings.
-
I reward my students with 5 to 10 minutes free time on Fridays for meeting their reading goal, completing assignments, and good behavior.
-
The district leaders recognize the principals in the beginning of the year during district meetings and with the cluster meetings.
-
I think campus leaders get the recognition when TEA scores for campuses come out and they get a rating that represents how hard their teachers work.
-
None, Just excited about progress.
-
Principals are recognized through their evaluation from the AA, Board recognitions, campus recognition (A-F Ratings).
-
Principals and campus leaders are rewarded for it by seeing the growth of the school and the students.
-
At this moment there are not clear avenues for "shout out's" for Principals and Campus Leaders. The conversations, I am sure are being held but not anything shared publicly.
-
Principals and campus leaders are recognized by end of the year school ratings.
-
Successful students and teachers reward administration.
-
No comment
-
Shout-outs and small tokens of appreciation, including affirmations and personal notes.
-
Not sure. Hopefully, they are appreciated orally during an administration meeting.
-
We need to improve in this area since the reading success currently only resembles celebrating reading growth on MAP by providing snack party for all students that met there growth goal.
-
I am not aware of any recognition.
-
At facutly meetings we do celebrations at the beginning of our meetings and we praise our campus leaders, interventionist when we receive data from MAP or AMIRA that reflects reading success. We also give out Cougar Bucks to them to use later in our auction. We acknowledge that it is all a team effort to increase our success in reading.
-
Data celebrations at various levels.
-
I don't know if there are any rewards or recognition for principals and campus leaders.
-
During principal meetings, we discuss data but the principals and other campus leaders are never recognized or rewarded during those discussions. Our school board receives a report monthly, but no recognition or reward for the campus leaders is included.
-
I am not aware of any system in place to formally reward or recognize principals and/or campus leaders.
-
Walkthrough feedback
-
I think this is an area to explore for our system.
-
Y student outcomes
-
Principals and Campus Leaders are recognized by the campus rating, by the students advancing and by the District sharing ratings with the school board and the community.
-
I think principals and campus leaders are recognized for the work involved in improved outcomes - when I see celebrations focused on growth - it mostly revolves around STAAR growth. Very rarely is growth mentioned in our younger grades.
-
Campus leaders are recognized through newsletters sent out by the principal, and on our campus group chat.
-
Principals and campus leaders meet following benchmark data with the teachers and discuss student successes; data is reviewed with district admin in a one on one data PLC
-
District level people come to the campus to complete walkthroughs and provide positive feedback.
-
Unsure. I think there is more focus on the declines than on celebrating increases in the data.
-
This is not something that has been done or is currently done.
-
In my Campus my librarian would recognize in school assemblies the students that read the most. But Principals or Campus Leaders are not being recognized or rewarded it unfortunately.
-
Verbal praises from one another!
-
It is done through the during Leadership meetings.
-
We recognize the work campus leaders are doing to improve reading achievement during our meetings.
-
With our current system, principals are not necessarily recognized just for reading success, but are recognized for overall student growth and performance.
-
I know a huge part of recognition is our accountability rating system. I know celebrations and collaboration can occur during our district progress monitoring meetings.
-
A list is sent out to the schools leadership teams of school ranked ordered. Verbal recognition.
-
We celebrate growth and implementation tips at specialists meetings, but that is not part of documented strategies in DIP or CIP. (campus leaders) There is more incentive placed on the 3rd-6th grade performance overall. (principals)
-
Principals are recognized for reading success through performance-based evaluations and incentive programs that reward measurable student growth in literacy. These may include district-level leadership initiatives such as Texas Reading Academies, financial bonuses tied to campus reading achievement, and evaluation systems like T-PESS (Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System) that factor in student progress in reading as part of overall principal effectiveness.
-
The campuses that earn an A or B from the state are rewarded.
-
I only see recognition in STAAR grades, not so much in primary grade levels.
-
In our campus there isn't. However, Texas does recognize them with the TALE award, Leadership in Literacy Award, Emerging Literacy Leaders Grant, and TEPSA award.
-
I do not believe the district has a system in place to recognize principals and campus leaders for reading success.
-
For Principals, their TPESS and we are working on monetary incentives.

Our CO ladies have a good sense on making us feel valued for the hard work we do. Dr. A and Dr. K continuously help motivate and support our continued efforts for student success.
-
Principal Compensation Plan which recognizes campus academic achievement.

The principals and the campus leaders are recognized just like the teachers are through the TXRL showcase and the follow up on the results of the learning walks pertaining to RBIS implementation at their campuses. District staff has continued to provide recognition, support, and autonomy for their principals and campus leaders as they move forward with implementation of HQIM and RBIS.
