teachers do NOT need to love edtech, they just need to use it. It's a tool to support and help them, not a thing to be loved.

I suspect that many teachers think - rightly - that good teaching requires face-to-face interaction, the teacher reading how much the student understands (for example) from their body language etc., and responding appropriately. And some learning technologies - online lectures, podcasts, etc. - make this difficult to achieve.

Because teachers worry about losing control of classroom management and learner being more expert than they are.

They are difficult to manage and may embarrass you in front of students

They see them as mere tools. Who loves a fridge or washing m/c? Their ability to transform learning takes a while to sink in.
